Who was Qin Shi Huangdi?

Qin Shi Huangdi was the leader of the Qin state. Qin was one of the seven competing states that fought for power after the fall of the Zhou (in a period often called The Warring States).

Between 230 and 221 B.C. the Qin easily conquered their enemies. Qin Shi Huangdi declared himself Emperor in 221 B.C.
